About

  • My Husband:
    • While not likely to be oft mentioned he does exist, survives our madness, and makes it possible for the rest of us to be our crazy selves. He’s very funny, super smart, loves us all, is gainfully employed, emotionally solid, and quite a hunk too. What more could we ask for?
  • Me:
    • I’m not as self-centered as this blog will make me appear, I promise, but it’s not like I can write about the inner workings of someone else’s brain. I’m a former social worker turned stay-at-home mom. It was on purpose, but now I’m not sure there’s a job out there that I could take that would cover childcare for five children. Did you hear about how I’m going to have five children? (mumbling a prayer for protection)
    • My lifelong ambition is to be a published author, and I’m really close to achieving that vicariously through my amazing BFF. We homeschool and I love it, which is one of the biggest shocks to me yet (besides TWINS) because I dropped out of my elementary education degree program in college pretty much as fast as I could, and because homeschooling is for super conservation religious weirdos.
    • Oh, here’s another shocker. I’m an Independent Consultant for Usborne Books & More, which is direct sales (for the best company and product ever) which is in direct opposition to anything that I thought I would ever do with my life. I love it. I will talk about it on this blog. **Disclaimer: if you buy something through that link I make money off your purchase and you get an awesome children’s book with a lifetime guarantee. It’s a win-win.**
  • Peanut:
    • My oldest son. He’s 10 going on Adult and knows all about everything including how unfair his life is. He has a super smart mouth (whoops, parenting fail, lol) and is wicked funny. He loves outer space, reading, drawing, building things, being outside, and bossing his younger brothers around. His current life ambition is to be either a fighter pilot or Tony Stark.
  • Pickle:
    • He’s 8 and thriving as one of the Big Kids now because he’s constantly ready to either quietly instigate an issue with either brother or to defend himself from unjust attacks at the top of his lungs. Another smart-mouth in the making, he also loves reading and still loves snuggling up to be read to as well. He loves being outside, video games, and playing with Legos. His lifelong ambition is to be a wizard.
  • Cookie:
    • He’s three and he is the quintessential summation of everything ever thought, written, or screamed in despair at the heavens about three year olds. He jumped from being the baby into being the middle child, but we all know he’s still the boss of the family. He loves trains, being read to, anything with a screen, bouncing on the trampoline, tackling people, throwing things, and screaming at anyone who gets in his way. He was our first foray into food allergies and we’ve been hugely blessed that he outgrew those rapidly. His lifelong ambition is to live off of chocolate, crackers, and, yes, cookies.
  • The Twins: I know they’re two different babies, trust me, I know. Two. Babies.
    • Jellybean- She’s Twin A. She’s the good sleeper and she has the biggest smile.
    • Macaroni- He’s Twin B. He’s my snuggler. The baby of all my babies and has the world’s best smirk.
